What is an NVQ?
A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a work-related, competency-based qualification  and are designed for you to gain the specific skills and knowledge needed to do the job.
Once you have completed our NVQ Award in Hair Extensions you can be assured you are holding an official NVQ qualification. You can use this qualification to progress your career and get insurance. You can also count this award towards a Level 3 NVQ in hairdressing. Included in the course fee is lifetime registration with VTCT.

The VTCT is the government approved awarding body, offering National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs).

Description
The NVQ Hair Extension Course
Description: Â VTCT Level 3 NVQ Award in Creative Hair Extension Services (QCF)
Hair Extensions Academy is a VTCT approved centre and the NVQ Level 3 Creative Hair Extensions is a full NVQ award in its own right.
It does also count towards your NVQ Level 3 full hairdressing qualification.
You do need to be Level 2 hairdressing qualified or have cutting experience to be eligible to attend the NVQ Hair Extensions course.
Content: The course covers micro-ring & pre-bonded shrink tube application methods so you gain knowledge of both hot and cold hair extensions systems ensuring a wide range of skills obtained to meet differing client needs. You will also cover how to identify which products and techniques to use, preparation of client hair, selecting, blending and placing hair extensions to add colour, volume & length for the client and how to complete each service by creatively cutting and finishing the hair. Maintenance of extensions and aftercare also form part of the course.
Trade: You will be eligible have a trade account with Hair Extensions Academy supply company to purchase hair and kit tools at wholesale price.
Price: £495 to include full professional kit, all training hair, lifetime registration with VTCT, full professional training manual, NVQ certification.
A £50 deposit secures your chosen date and the remaining fee can be paid in full or by instalments at any time before your course date.
A full hair extensions kit is included in the course fee and provided for each delegate attending.

On completion of this unit you will: Be able to maintain effective and safe methods of working when adding hair extensions. Be able to plan and prepare to add hair extensions. Be able to attach hair extensions. Be able to cut and finish hair with extensions. Be able to maintain and remove hair extensions. Understand the salon?s and legal requirements. Understand how to work safely, effectively and hygienically when adding hair extensions. Understand tests and testing procedures for hair extension services. Understand hair and skin structure. Understand preparation requirements for hair extension services. Understand how to perform hair extension services. Understand problem solving when adding hair extensions. Understand cutting and finishing techniques and products when working with extensions. Understand how to communicate and provide aftercare advice for clients
